Yeah Spring is officially here! I love the change of seasons and this would have to be my favourite. Being a vata I am not at all good friends with winter and all it's cold and damp, but I have learnt to appreciate its beauty and place in the cycle of nature. As appreciative as I am I still rejoice when it is over and I no longer have to wear heavy coats and stay indoors counting the days till the warmth returns. Anyway enough about me.
The beginning of Spring, like the beginning of any new season, is a time when we have to take care of our bodies as we adjust to the changing climate around us. How often do we get the sniffles or a spring cold or just feel a little out of sorts as we start to come out of the winter? This is because we physically start to release all the kapha (cold, damp, wet) that has been stored in our bodies over the winter and if we are not careful during this process we might end up with a change of season cold.
