Roast Pumpkin and lentil Soup

Are you looking for a simple and delicious winter meal? Then try this super easy soup.

All you do is roast some pumpkin and garlic in olive oil until cooked. Once cooked place pumpkin and garlic in a slow cooker with a litre of good quality liquid stock, add 2 onions and a some brown lentils and cook on high for 3 hours.

If you are a non dairy person add some coconut milk towards the end or you can add some cream if you prefer. Place in a blender for a smoother soup or leave as is for a more stew like consistency. Serve with some bread and then you will have a complete protein meal.

You will be surprised by how something so simple could taste so great. Try it and tell me what you think.

Enjoy xx

I love what I do

I am so blessed, I love my job. I love going to work. It nourishes my soul. It inspires me and makes me happy. But this wasn't always the case and it took a great leap of faith to get here.

I quit my job last year, moved cities and had no idea what I was going to do. I just knew I had to go. My inner voice just kept telling me that I had to move on, I had to go even though there was nothing waiting for me at my destination. And it was a real test, a test to see how I would cope with the challenges. But I am happy to say I did OK. I didn't allow myself to let fear or doubt overcome me, I didn't allow myself to get pulled down by focusing on the negatives, what I didn't have or what I had given up. I just kept believing that something was coming, something worth the lack of security and that only by being in that place of total surrender would it be possible for it to come into my reality. And it did come and it came so simply, it was just handed to me really and again it was not something that I had considered but I took it believing that this chain of events were happening for a reason and knowing that when you are fully surrendered you must follow the trail and take what is offered.

It really is true what they say about needing to close one door for another to open for if I hadn't closed the door on my old life I would not have been in a position to be offered or even accept what I have now. So if you ever get guided to throw it all in and change your life then maybe you should listen to the voices in your head because often it is your Soul talking to you trying to guide to to a place where you will find more happiness and fulfilment in your life.  Jump into the abyss because you never know what is waiting on the other side. And there is always another side, always.

So what about you? Do you love your life? Are you thinking about making a big life change? Tell us all about it :)

Harmony Balance Health

I have been very busy studying over the last 2 years to develop more skills and deepen my knowledge of how to help people find balance and harmony in their health and lives. To acknowledge this I have created a new website Harmony Balance Health

I am very excited to about this new stage in my life and the fact that I now have more to offer my clients. The two areas that I have been focusing on through my studies are Yoga and Energetic Healing and it's so amazing how well they overlap and complement each other. Together they truly do demonstrate what is meant by holistic healing and wellbeing. Yoga of course is the sister science of Ayurveda and Energetic Healing deals with the etheric and energetic body and includes the chakras and aura which of course are a major part of Yoga.

These three therapies compliment each other so well from a therapeutic viewpoint as all parts of your being are addressed, mind, body and spirit. I know because I have been using them personally as I have been studying and implementing them into my life. The changes I have seen in myself as I have developed an understanding of the concepts and practices of these amazing therapies has been life changing.

So please have a look at my site and continue to read this blog. Now that I have more free time I will be posting a lot more and updating both my blog and website with more great articles for you all to read.

Namaste and blessings of good health and wellbeing to you all

Coconut Oil

Summer is a great time to swap your cooking oils over to coconut oil. Actually it's not even an oil, it's a fat and just like avocado it's one of those truly delicious good for you fats that you can eat without worry or guilt. Just another of the many gifts that Mother Nature generously gives us. Not only is it delicious and healthy but it also reduces heat in the body, perfect for hot summer days and Pitta imbalances. Try using it in stir fries, baking and any other time you would reach for your sesame, olive or your preferred cooking oil. Give it a try and see what you think.
